Bats play such crucial roles in ecosystems around the world that their loss would threaten countless plants and animals and diminish human environments and economies.  They are the primary predators of many insect pests, and are important pollinators of agave, bananas, mangoes, peaches, dates, figs, cloves, and carob in the wild.  Hundreds of commercial products come from bat-dependent plants.  For more information or to contribute to their protection, please contact Bat Conservation International at www.batcon.org or 800-538-BATS.  Thank you.
